Access and License Options for Institutional Customers

We offer a flexible range of subscription and licensing options to institutional customers and library consortia. Customers can choose the format that suits their needs and can gain benefits from the Wiley Online License should they wish to convert their current subscriptions to online only. Our goal is to work in partnership with our customers to find long term solutions which deliver high levels of value, top quality content, beneficial licensing terms, and cost control.

Subscription Options

Most journals from Wiley-Blackwell are available in the following three subscription options:

1. Print Only — 100% of the list price
2. Online Only — 100% of the list price
3. Print and Online — 110% of the list price

All subscribers with online access to any journal are entitled to the following benefits:

• Free access to usage data
• Unlimited concurrent users
• Free course-pack use and walk-in user access
• Campus-wide single site access
• Access to content dating back to 1997 (where available) during the subscription year 2009, excluding issues in Backfile Collections
• Perpetual access to content back to 1997 (where available)
• Free access to all newly launched journals with the option to opt-in for perpetual rights to the first 2-years of content. Opt-in now: interscience.wiley.com/newjournals

Licensing Options

The Wiley Online License offers many benefits for library customers and end-users and should facilitate the management, administration and renewal of your holdings by using one price list and one negotiation with one Account Manager under one set of terms and conditions.

Institutional customers and library consortia who license their core collection of subscription holdings can then take advantage of the following options:

• Adding access to a complete Standard Collection of Wiley-Blackwell titles

• Building a Custom Collection or sharing access to titles held by other sites within your consortium
• Adding online books, major reference works, databases, laboratory protocols and journal backfiles as an addendum to your Wiley Online License
• Adding Article Select Tokens to your account for use across all Wiley-Blackwell online books and journals.
• Adding print at the deeply discounted rate of 15% of the list price.

Wiley Online License

Wiley-Blackwell now offers a new license option for all its online journals: the Wiley Online License, with many benefits for libraries and end-users. The Wiley Online License is designed to deliver high levels of value and flexibility in managing your library holdings and budgets. Take advantage of one price list, one negotiation, one renewal and one set of terms and conditions agreed upon with one Account Manager.

The Wiley Online License - Step by Step

Step 1: Manage your Core Collection holdings with Wiley-Blackwell

• Reconcile your core institutional subscriptions with your Wiley-Blackwell Account Manager
• Convert your current print holdings to Online Only
• Add other titles which match your research needs at the online only rates to your Core Collection
• Add newer journals based on FTE pricing
• Benefit from predictable price increase caps with multi-year licenses
• Add Deeply Discounted Print at 15% of the list price for your subscribed titles
• Manage your renewal directly with Wiley-Blackwell or through your usual subscription agent

Step 2: Add unsubscribed journals via Standard or Custom Collections, with predictable annual pricing

• Gain access to a large number of unsubscribed titles across all subject disciplines or in specific areas through a Standard or Custom Collection
• Standard Collections consist of a pre-selected list of titles and offer great value for money
• Custom Collections allow you to pick-and-choose additional titles at a discounted price
• Consortia may negotiate to share access via a Custom Collection
• Pay only once for content: fees are based on a percentage of the value of the unsubscribed titles at your institution
• Benefit from predictable price increase caps with multi-year licenses
• Receive perpetual access rights to all titles added via your Standard or Custom Collection, for the years covered in your license term

Step 3: Add free content to your holdings

• Benefit from free online access to all newly launched journals and Wiley Interdisciplinary Reviews (WIREs) with no obligation to subscribe in future years. Opt-in for perpetual archival rights and, where available, a free print subscription.

Step 4: Enhance your holdings with other online content from Wiley-Blackwell

• Journal backfiles, online books, book series, major reference works, EBM resources like Essential Evidence Plus and the Cochrane Library, chemistry databases, and Current Protocols laboratory methods may be added to your Wiley Online License. ArticleSelect tokens are available for access to unsubscribed articles or chapters on demand.

Pay-Per-View

Pay-Per-View affords instant, full-text access to most journal articles, book chapters, and reference work articles available on Wiley InterScience without the need for a subscription. Anyone can purchase a Pay-Per-View article directly using a credit card, and access to the full text is available for 24 hours.

ArticleSelect ™

ArticleSelect allows libraries and institutional customers access to non-subscribed content by means of an electronic "token" that can be redeemed for a single article or chapter.

Benefits of the ArticleSelect system include:

• Access online full-text content from journals, books, and reference works outside current library holdings
• Get articles instantly, with no waiting for document delivery
• Access is available for 24 hours to all users at the institution
• Cost-savings option available when tokens have been used at a value totaling 115% of a journal's subscription price, the customer is auto-subscribed to that title for the year

Customers may receive tokens based on the length and value of their license, or may purchase additional tokens at any time. There are several options to manage how library users can redeem ArticleSelect tokens.
